Overview
The Climate Impact Innovations Challenge (CIIC) is Indonesia’s largest climate innovations technology competition. Since its debut in 2023, CIIC has provided a platform for innovators to showcase sustainable solutions addressing ecological challenges and mitigating the impacts of climate change. The 2026 edition continues this mission, offering opportunities for teams to pilot their solutions in Indonesia.
Competition Tracks
CIIC 2026 features three thematic tracks:
- Energy Transition: Promoting renewable energy adoption, sustainable mobility systems, and efficient resource use.
- Food & Nature Solutions: Advancing sustainable food systems, resilient agricultural and aquaculture practices, and nature-based solutions.
- Circular Economy: Supporting waste and water circularity and adaptation to climate-related disasters.
A special prize will be awarded to outstanding carbon projects with the potential to generate internationally recognized carbon credits.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Have developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with a clear roadmap for commercialization.
- Present an original and innovative proposal relevant to the current climate tech landscape.
- Propose impactful solutions addressing challenges in at least one of the three tracks.
- Demonstrate feasibility for large-scale adoption.
- Show potential for a commercially sustainable business model targeting a large market size.
Prize and Benefits
- Total Prize Pool: Rp15 billion
- Special Award: Pre-purchase carbon credits worth up to USD $1 million for select finalists.
- Other Benefits: Visibility, mentorship, and opportunities to pilot solutions in Indonesia.
