2026 Growing Roots Grant – Youth-Led Climate Action Projects

The Growing Roots Grant provides funding of up to $10,000 USD per group for new and emerging youth-led projects that improve the lives of communities on the frontlines of climate change. This grant program also includes ongoing mentorship to help projects thrive and scale impact.

Who Can Apply

  • Grassroots youth-led initiatives from Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, South East Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific.

  • Applications from diaspora and BIPOC communities based in Global North countries are welcome.

  • Projects must be new or emerging (no older than one year).

Key Focus Areas

  1. Strategic Dialogue and Narrative Building – Projects that create spaces for dialogue, strengthen relationships, counter misinformation, and support local organizing.

  2. Advocacy-Oriented Initiatives – Projects that influence public policy, local governance, or civic engagement to drive sustainable change.

  3. Community Autonomy Initiatives – Projects that strengthen community-owned infrastructure, systems, or resources, empowering long-term resilience.

Funding and Support

Selected initiatives will receive up to $10,000 USD, mentorship, and guidance to advance their climate solutions. Approximately 8-10 grants will be awarded in 2026.
