About the ICAW 2026 Poster Contest

The International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) 2026 Poster Contest invites creative individuals worldwide to submit original designs that capture the importance of composting in protecting life on land. The winning design will become the official ICAW 2026 poster, distributed globally to raise awareness about soil health and sustainable ecosystems.

Deadline: November 14, 2025, by 12 midnight EST
Prize: USD 500 and global recognition as the official ICAW 2026 poster designer

Theme for 2026: Compost! Feed the Soil that Feeds Us

The theme for ICAW 2026 connects directly to UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land, which emphasizes the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. Healthy soil sustains life, supports food production, filters water, and maintains biodiversity. However, soil degradation and contamination are growing threats worldwide.

Composting provides one of the simplest and most effective ways to rebuild soil health, manage waste sustainably, and strengthen resilience against climate challenges. Through this year’s theme, ICAW aims to inspire action toward protecting and restoring our planet’s vital soil resources.
