The AFRICA Awards celebrate excellence in Agriculture, Science, Technology, and Innovation (ASTI) across Africa. They aim to recognize individuals, groups, or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS) and agripreneurship on the continent.

Africa Research Excellence Award – For outstanding contributions to agricultural research advancing innovation and knowledge in Africa.

Africa Innovation-based Entrepreneurship Award – For agripreneurs and organizations applying innovative solutions to transform agricultural value chains.

Africa Impactful and Evidence-based Policies Award – For policy leaders whose interventions have significantly improved agricultural outcomes and sustainability.
Eligibility

Open to individuals, groups, or organizations that demonstrate excellence in ASTI and AIS in Africa.

Nominations can be made by African or non-African individuals with a track record in African agriculture, research, policy, industry, or development.

Staff of FARA, Afreximbank, members of the AIASC, or organizations led by AIASC members cannot nominate candidates.
Selection Process

Awardees are chosen by an independent body, the AFRICA Independent Awards Selection Committee (AIASC), supported by the Africa Awards Working Group (AAWG) composed of professionals from FARA and Afreximbank.
