The African Union Youth Startup Programme is inviting young African innovators, especially those developing solutions in agriculture and food security, to participate in the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) 2025 in Algiers.

What is the AU Youth Startup Programme?

Led by the African Union Commission in partnership with Afreximbank and other key partners, this initiative provides a unique platform for young African entrepreneurs to grow their startups and connect with investors, business leaders, and peers from across the continent.

Opportunities at IATF 2025

Selected startups will be able to:

  • Exhibit agricultural products, innovative solutions, or prototypes to a global audience.

  • Engage with investors and business leaders interested in agri-tech and sustainable food systems.

  • Participate in training sessions and receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs.

  • Support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) goal of boosting trade and economic integration across Africa.

Who Can Apply?

This programme welcomes young Africans who are:

  • Between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Citizens of an AU member state or part of the African diaspora.

  • Founders or co-founders of registered startups or working prototypes addressing challenges in health, education, and notably food security and agriculture in Africa.

  • Available to attend the event in Algiers during IATF 2025.

  • Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and economic development.

How to Apply

  1. Prepare your application materials:

    • A short business summary (max 500 words).

    • Proof of company registration.

    • A pitch deck or visuals of your product.

    • A 2-minute video presentation describing your startup.

  2. Complete the application form through the official link.

  3. Submit your application by 30 May 2025, 23:59 EAT (late submissions will not be considered).

  4. Wait for notification by 31 July 2025.

Note: Only one application per startup. Applications must be in English or French.
