GBfoods Africa, with operations in over 24 countries and a regional office in Accra, Ghana, is inviting applications for Agronomist positions to support its innovative block farming project. This initiative is designed to empower local farmers, improve crop yields, and strengthen sustainable agricultural practices across Ghana.
Agric-Focused Role
Reporting to the Farm Site Manager, the Agronomist will provide strategic agronomic support to farmers, focusing on:
- Crop production and soil management
- Soil health improvement through experiments and nutrient optimization
- Farmer capacity building to enhance knowledge and adoption of best practices
- Yield maximization strategies for sustainable income growth
- Laboratory testing of soil, seed, and crop samples to guide evidence-based farming decisions
This agric-focused role is central to GBfoods’ mission of celebrating local flavours by strengthening food systems and empowering farming communities.
Key Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Master’s in Soil Science is a plus)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Agronomist
- Strong knowledge of soil and crop principles
- Skills in community engagement and farmer relations
- Analytical capability, problem-solving mindset, and effective communication
