The AI for Good Impact Awards, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), celebrate innovative AI solutions that deliver measurable, real-world impact. Returning in 2026 after a successful first edition, the awards spotlight transformative applications of AI that improve human well-being, strengthen sustainability, and build economic resilience.

Winners will be honored at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva on 8 July 2026, gaining global recognition for their contributions to solving pressing challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are open to:

  • Small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
  • Large corporations
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Academic and research institutions
  • Government bodies
  • Individual contributors

⚠️ Note: Startups are not eligible for this award but may apply to the AI for Good Innovation Factory startup competition.

The awards are particularly relevant for:
  • Agricultural innovators using AI to improve food security, optimize farming practices, and strengthen rural livelihoods.
  • Organizations applying AI for climate-smart agriculture and sustainable resource management.
  • Researchers and institutions developing AI-driven solutions for nutrition, poverty reduction, and digital inclusion.

Awards Categories

  1. AI for People – Human-centered innovation improving well-being, inclusion, and equality.
    • Examples: AI for healthcare, education, accessibility, poverty reduction, and food security through agricultural optimization.
  2. AI for Planet – AI solutions protecting ecosystems and advancing sustainability.
    • Examples: Climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, water management, and pollution reduction.
  3. AI for Prosperity – AI initiatives driving resilient economies and sustainable growth.
    • Examples: Smart cities, industry innovation, logistics, energy efficiency, and governance.
Winners receive:
