This unique grant program honors the legacies of Bob Skiera and John White, two leaders in urban forestry who championed collaboration across sectors to strengthen urban tree ecosystems. The initiative funds collaborative research projects that connect urban forestry to other disciplines like civil engineering, wildlife biology, public policy, risk assessment, and soil science.

Grant value: Up to $30,000 total
($25,000 from Bob Skiera Fund + $5,000 from John White Fund) -
Open to: Institutions and researchers across disciplines

Not eligible: Individuals, tree planting programs, basic surveys, timber-focused or commercial product testing projects
