About the Challenge
The AI4D Innovation Scaling Challenge supports AI innovations that are already deployed and in-use, demonstrating significant social impact and readiness to scale across Africa.
This challenge focuses on scaling responsible AI solutions that address key development challenges, particularly in:
- 
Agriculture and Food Security 
- 
Education 
- 
Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation 
- 
Gender Inequality, Disability Inclusion, and Vulnerable Communities 
Eligibility
Open to the following applicants across Sub-Saharan Africa:
- 
Individual researchers and AI innovators 
- 
AI startups and MSMEs/SMEs 
- 
Universities and research institutions working in AI 
- 
Consortia (collaborative teams of stakeholders) 
Key Requirements
Applicants must already have an innovation that:
- 
Has moved beyond proof-of-concept 
- 
Is deployed in real-world conditions 
- 
Demonstrates scaling potential beyond the current user base 
Ideation-stage or concept-only projects will not be considered.
