CGAP and IDH – The Sustainable Trade Initiative – have launched the second call for expressions of interest for ABERA (Accelerating Business to Empower Rural Women in Agriculture). This initiative seeks financial and agricultural service providers in Africa and Asia who are committed to boosting their business performance while delivering services that improve rural women’s climate resilience.

 What’s in it for You?

Selected companies will:

  • Receive tailored technical assistance to design and scale climate-smart, gender-inclusive solutions.

  • Access data-driven tools to strengthen climate resilience.

  • Benefit from networking opportunities, global visibility, and connections with potential investors and partners.

  • Join a 2–3-year cohort program that combines peer learning, expert guidance, and strategic support.

 Who Can Apply?

Companies must:

  • Be medium to large agribusinesses or financial service providers serving or sourcing from at least 5,000 farmers.

  • Operate in Africa and/or Asia.

  • Be committed to engaging more rural women and building climate resilience.

  • Be ready to co-invest and provide staff time and gender-disaggregated data for impact assessment.

 Key Dates:

  • Deadline to Apply: April 22, 2025

  • Shortlisting: May 2025

  • Final Selection & Onboarding: June 2025
