Call for Nominations: Tyler Prize 2027

The Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement is now accepting nominations for its 2027 edition. This prestigious award honors individuals and institutions worldwide whose work has made outstanding contributions to environmental protection, sustainable energy, and planetary health.

Focus Areas

Nominees should demonstrate achievements in:

• Protection, maintenance, or improvement of ecological and environmental conditions.
• Discovery or development of sustainable energy sources.
• Advancing planetary health and global solutions.

Eligibility

• Open to individuals and institutions worldwide.
• Nominations must be submitted by a third party (self‑nominations are not permitted).
• Multiple nominations from the same nominator and posthumous nominations are not accepted.
• Nominations are retained for three years for consideration.
• All submissions must be in English.

Nomination Criteria

Nominee’s work should:

• Be grounded in strong science (natural and/or social sciences).
• Address global inequalities and propose solutions.
• Demonstrate measurable and scalable impact on policy and/or practice.
• Show engagement with younger generations.
• Integrate diverse perspectives and promote environmental justice.

Exclusions

The prize is not awarded for:

• Local grassroots projects with regional scope only.
• Organizing large meetings, summits, or conferences.
• Awareness‑raising campaigns without direct scientific or policy impact.
• Posthumous nominations.

Timeline

• Nomination Deadline: May 15, 2026 (11:59 PM PT).
• Award Ceremony: 2027 (date to be announced).

Submission Requirements

Nominators must prepare:

• Full contact details of nominee and nominator.
• A 1–2 page summary of accomplishments and contributions.
• A list of 3–5 references willing to provide letters of support.
• CV (for individuals) or brochure/datasheet (for institutions).
• All documents compiled into one Word or PDF file.
