Empowering Smallholder Farmers, Strengthening Ecosystems, and Building Inclusive Value Chains
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) invites proposals for its 28th Call for Proposals, supporting transformative, high-impact projects that improve smallholder livelihoods, promote environmental regeneration, and drive social inclusion across commodity-dependent developing countries.
Deadline: April 1, 2026
Eligible Countries: All 101 CFC member countries (including Ghana)
Funding Focus Areas
CFC invests in projects that align commercial viability with environmental and social goals. Priority is given to proposals that enhance income opportunities for smallholders and contribute to sustainable rural development.
Key focus areas include:

Regenerative Agriculture and Biodiversity Protection

Local Value Addition with low environmental impact

Trade Finance for connecting smallholders with global markets

Agtech and Digital Tools for transparent, inclusive value chains

Financial Access for smallholder farmers

Women Entrepreneurship and Gender-Responsive Business Models
Special Priority Regions
The 28th Call places emphasis on projects focused on:

Sustainable forest resource use in the Congo Basin (Cameroon, CAR, DRC, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of Congo)
-
Proposals from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
Who Can Apply
Applications are welcome from:

SMEs and cooperatives
-
Social enterprises and NGOs
-
Public or private entities operating in CFC member countries
Applicants must:

Have at least three years of operational history, and
-
Demonstrate financial viability and project experience.
