D-Prize Global Competition 2025/2026 — Funding for New Agriculture Innovations Fighting Extreme Poverty

  • Grants
  • Anywhere

The D-Prize Global Competition is officially open, offering startup grants of up to $20,000 to new organizations solving extreme poverty through high-impact, proven solutions. This round strongly welcomes bold, agriculture-focused entrepreneurs ready to launch scalable interventions across low- and middle-income countries.

If you are passionate about transforming smallholder farming systems and improving rural livelihoods, the Agriculture Challenge Category is an excellent fit.

What D-Prize Wants

D-Prize supports new organizations that can increase access to evidence-based agricultural products and services that are already proven to improve yields, strengthen food security, and boost farmer incomes.

Eligible agric-related solutions may include:

  • Distribution of improved seeds, fertilizers, or soil-enhancing products

  • Expansion of agric extension services to underserved rural communities

  • Delivery of post-harvest storage technologies

  • Access programs for irrigation tools, climate-smart inputs, or low-cost farm equipment

  • Models that improve market access and reduce farmer losses

  • Any proven agriculture intervention that is not reaching the farmers who need it most

Your project must show how it will distribute an existing solution — not invent a new one.

Funding Available

  • Up to $20,000 startup capital

  • Designed to help you launch a test pilot

  • Open to new organizations, including NGOs, charities, or for-profit social enterprises

  • Strong preference for entrepreneurs from low- and middle-income countries

D-Prize rarely funds organizations with more than 18 months of full-time operations or more than $30,000 raised.
