About Us
FASA (“Financing for Agri-SMEs in Africa”) is a fund-of-funds designed to unlock financing for agricultural Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Africa. We achieve this by supporting investment funds that are active in the sector, providing catalytic capital, technical assistance, and capacity building.

Investment Strategy

FASA provides $2M–$10M in subordinated capital (mainly junior equity) to selected investment funds.

Funds are empowered to invest in agri-SMEs across Africa while receiving technical assistance and capacity building.

FASA does not provide grants; investments are channeled through partner funds.
Eligibility Criteria for Funds

On-the-ground presence: At least one senior investment professional based in Africa.

Investment focus: SME funds providing initial tickets from $15K–$5M.

Agricultural exposure: ≥30% of total investable capital in African agri-SMEs.

Exclusion compliance: No investments in SMEs violating the IFC Exclusion List.

ESG & Impact: Must implement FASA’s minimum ESG and impact practices.

Gender alignment: Comply with FASA’s gender requirements.

Learning commitment: Participate in FASA’s learning agenda.

Data transparency: Maintain an accessible data room with fund and portfolio information.
