The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) invites applications for its 2025–2026 Study-cum-Research Program, designed to provide academic and professional training in agricultural research and innovation across multiple disciplines.

Program Categories

  • Internship Program: 6 weeks – 3 months

  • Master’s Research Program: 3 – 6 months

  • Doctoral Research Program: 6 months – 3 years

  • Research Fellow Program: 6 – 18 months

Eligibility Criteria

  • Enrolled in a recognized academic institution (BSc for internships, MSc for Master’s, PhD for Doctoral)

  • Completed all coursework and free from classroom attendance during the program

  • Recent graduates may apply for skill enhancement

  • Students must secure travel, accident, and health insurance

  • Female and low-income country applicants are encouraged

Fees and Scholarships

  • Application Fee:

    • $20 (international applicants)

    • ₹1,500 (Indian applicants)

  • Bench Fees:

    • Internships: $100 for the first month, then $25/month

    • Master’s: $100 for the first 6 months, then $50 for each additional 6 months

    • Doctoral: $150 for the first 12 months, then $50 for each additional 6 months

  • 50% fee concession available for applicants from low-income countries (as per FAO classification)

  • Limited scholarships/fellowships available
    Note: Bench fees do not cover food, accommodation, or travel.

Application and Selection

  • Applications accepted year-round, reviewed in June, September, and March

  • Apply at least 45 days before the proposed start date

  • Selection based on academic merit, relevance to ICRISAT research, and interview (optional)
