iF Social Impact Prize 2026

Overview

The iF Social Impact Prize 2026 is now open for submissions until 19 August 2026. This global competition supports projects that contribute to improving society and align with one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each year, EUR 100,000 is donated to outstanding initiatives that demonstrate innovation, courage, and measurable impact.

Applying is free of charge, and projects selected by the jury will be published on the iF Design website, presented to the global design community, and awarded individual winner certificates.

Agric Relevance

Agriculture is central to several SDGs, making this prize highly relevant for agribusinesses, NGOs, and innovators working in food systems. Projects that can be submitted include:

• Zero Hunger – Initiatives improving food security, crop yields, and nutrition.
• Clean Water and Sanitation – Digital irrigation, water conservation, and climate adaptation for farming.
• Affordable and Clean Energy – Off‑grid solar powering agricultural operations.
• Responsible Consumption and Production – Sustainable farming practices, eco‑packaging, and food waste reduction.
• Climate Action – Climate‑smart agriculture, soil health, and carbon reduction in food systems.
• Life on Land – Biodiversity conservation, reforestation, and sustainable land management.

For Ghanaian agripreneurs, this is an opportunity to showcase innovations such as cassava processing technologies, poultry waste recycling, soil health mapping, and climate‑smart irrigation systems.

Eligibility

• Projects must already be established (student concepts are not accepted).
• Must align with one or more of the 15 UN SDGs.
• Must demonstrate design relevance as part of the solution.
• Applicants can submit the same project a maximum of two times.

Evaluation Criteria

The jury evaluates projects based on:

• Problem‑solving capacity.
• Moral and ethical standards.
• Design relevance.
• Reasonable effort and feasibility.
• Beneficial experiences and measurable impact.
