They focus on groups that protect ecosystems by securing land and resource rights, strengthening community institutions, and generating economic opportunities through natural resource management — including sustainable agriculture.

Key Focus Areas for Partnership:

• Commitment: Applicants must show strong dedication to their mission and a desire to improve organizational performance for greater impact.

• Leadership: Organizations should have capable, motivated leadership with a clear vision and a willingness to collaborate for long-term results.

• Conservation Model: Maliasili prioritizes organizations that:

  • Strengthen local rights over land and natural resources

  • Support inclusive, community-based management systems

  • Deliver economic benefits to rural communities through conservation-linked livelihoods, including agroforestry, sustainable farming, and nature-based enterprises

• Geographic Relevance: Priority is given to organizations working in critical ecological landscapes or regions where natural resource management, including agriculture, plays a key role in conservation outcomes.

• Track Record: Organizations should demonstrate measurable results or a compelling strategy for future impact.

• Scalability: Preference is given to organizations with potential to grow their impact, whether within a single region or more broadly across a country.

Application Process:

Interested organizations can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be considered for partnership. EOIs are reviewed twice annually.
