The World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator is on a mission to #disrupthunger, piloting and scaling bold, technology-driven solutions aimed at achieving Zero Hunger. They source innovations from WFP staff, entrepreneurs, start-ups, NGOs, and companies, offering them mentorship, funding, hands-on support, and links to WFP’s field operations. The goal? To scale ideas that can truly make a difference.

How to Get Involved

Programs accepting innovative solutions include:

• Innovation challenges

• Innovation bootcamps

Applications are accepted through rolling calls—meaning you can submit your project any time of the year. WFP also runs themed innovation challenges with specific topics. If none fit your innovation, you can submit it for general consideration through the rolling process.

Evaluation Criteria

Your innovation will be reviewed based on:

• Impact: Ability to reach large numbers and contribute to Zero Hunger

• Feasibility: Practicality of implementation and long-term sustainability

• Innovation level: Novel ideas or new applications of existing technology

• Scalability: Clear pathway to long-term, sustainable use

• Team capability: Relevant experience and commitment to project success

Eligible Innovators

• WFP staff and teams

• Entrepreneurs, start-ups, companies, and NGOs with viable, high-potential innovations

• Solutions at Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage or beyond

• Must be ready to scale and fit within WFP’s operational context
