The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) is inviting applications for its 28th Call for Proposals, targeting projects that strengthen smallholder farmers, local communities, and sustainable agricultural value chains. This initiative supports innovative, high-impact projects that combine commercial viability with environmental and social responsibility.

Who Can Apply

The CFC welcomes applications from:

  • SMEs, cooperatives, and social enterprises

  • NGOs and public or private sector entities

  • Organizations with at least 3 years of operational experience in one of the 101 CFC member countries

Eligible projects must enhance smallholder livelihoods, increase local incomes, and promote environmental sustainability.

Priority Areas for Agriculture and Rural Development

  • Regenerative Agriculture & Biodiversity Protection – Support climate-smart farming and ecosystem restoration.

  • Local Value Addition – Agro-processing and low-impact value chain solutions.

  • Agtech & Digital Tools – Solutions for inclusive, sustainable, and transparent agricultural markets.

  • Financial Access – Improve farmers’ access to credit and financial services.

  • Women and Youth Empowerment – Support gender-inclusive agribusiness initiatives.

Special priority is given to:

  • Projects in the Congo Basin for sustainable forest and agricultural management.

  • Proposals from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
