  • Funding
  • Anywhere

Agribusinesses across Ghana now have the chance to access affordable and flexible loans designed to expand operations, create jobs, and strengthen the agricultural value chain. This initiative directly supports youth, women, and smallholder farmers—helping reduce poverty while contributing to the global food supply chain.

About the Program

The BRIDGE‑in Agriculture (BIA) program is a 5‑year Mastercard Foundation initiative focused on building resilience and investing in the growth of entrepreneurs in agriculture. It provides:

  • Affordable capital for SMEs in agriculture and related sectors.
  • Technical support and training to equip youth and women with skills for dignified employment.
  • Single‑digit interest loans through partnerships with leading commercial banks in Ghana.

Loan Opportunities for Agribusinesses

Through partnerships with Access Bank, EcoBank, Fidelity Bank, First National Bank, Stanbic Bank, Zenith Bank, and others, agribusinesses can access loans tailored to their unique challenges.

Eligible agribusinesses include:

  • SMEs engaged in primary agriculture (crop and livestock production).
  • Agro‑processing enterprises adding value to farm produce.
  • Agricultural input suppliers (seeds, fertilizers, machinery).
  • Agri‑technology innovators developing digital and mechanization solutions.
  • Entities within the agricultural value chain, such as restaurants and agricultural R&D organizations.

Training and Grants

Beyond loans, BRIDGE‑in Agriculture partners with business development service providers to deliver free training and technical support.

  • Open to SMEs in agriculture and adjacent sectors.
  • Youth (18–35 years) and women can gain skills to start businesses or secure fulfilling employment.
  • Selected participants may receive grants up to GHS 27,500 to grow their agribusiness.

Why This Matters

Agriculture remains the backbone of Ghana’s economy. By easing access to affordable financing and providing skills development, this program empowers agribusinesses to:

  • Expand production capacity.
  • Create sustainable jobs for youth and women.
  • Strengthen Ghana’s role in the global food supply chain.
