Voluntary SDG Acceleration Actions are concrete, ongoing initiatives that demonstrate measurable progress toward one or more SDGs. They must be specific, measurable, achievable, resource-based, and time-bound (SMART) and cannot be proposals, completed activities, or meetings.
Projects and initiatives can cover a wide range of SDGs, including:
-
Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture
-
Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
-
Goal 15: Protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, and halt biodiversity loss
Registered initiatives may include activities such as sustainable farming projects, agroforestry, community-based reforestation, climate-smart agriculture, and other initiatives that directly impact food security, land restoration, and rural livelihoods.
