Agric Relevance
Agriculture is one of the priority innovation sectors for this year’s theme, “Deep Roots. Digital Futures.” The competition encourages women founders to apply deep technology to solve Africa’s agricultural challenges.
Examples of agric‑related innovations that qualify:
- AgriTech – IoT soil sensors, drone crop analysis, yield optimization tools.
- Biotech – Crop resilience technologies, synthetic biology for food security.
- Water Tech – Digital irrigation systems, desalination, and climate adaptation for farming.
- Clean Energy – Off‑grid solar solutions powering agribusiness operations.
For Ghanaian agripreneurs, this is a chance to highlight innovations in precision agriculture, climate‑smart farming, and rural market access.
Competition Tracks
- Idea Track – For pre‑venture concepts with prototypes or proof‑of‑concept (under 18 months old).
- Startup Track – For early‑stage ventures with revenue and formal registration (6 months–3 years).
- Scale‑Up Track – For growth‑stage ventures expanding regionally with revenue above $500K or institutional funding.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a woman founder or co‑founder.
- Must be a citizen, resident, or registered operator in an African nation (including Ghana).
- Venture must have a deep technology component.
- Founder must be 18 years or older.
- Commitment to attend the in‑person finals in Cape Town if selected.
