Overview
The Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA), hosted by People Powered, is now accepting applications for its next cohort. This six‑month, practice‑oriented training and support program prepares government and civil society leaders to design and implement inclusive participatory processes for a just climate transition.
Selected participants will develop projects focused on regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and other climate solutions that elevate community voices and ensure equitable outcomes.
Program Benefits
- Mentorship: Dedicated mentors guide participants through project design and implementation.
- Resources: Access to the Participation Playbook, case studies, and localized tools.
- Training: Live sessions, online courses, and workshops tailored to country contexts.
- Networking: Country‑based peer groups for collaboration and feedback.
- Funding:
- $10,000 USD implementation grant for all participants.
- Additional $15,000 USD award for the top five action plans.
Eligibility
Applications are open to:
- Government institutions
- Civil society organizations (CSOs)
- Non‑governmental organizations (NGOs)
While priority is given to applicants from Brazil, Indonesia, India, and Mexico, additional spots are available for participants from other countries worldwide, especially in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

- Selection: July 2026
- Notification: August 2026
- Onboarding & Program Start: September 2026
- Program End: March 2027
- Implementation of Action Plans: March 2027 – March 2028
