Call for Proposals: Pilot Projects on Climate Resilient Value Chains of Biodiversity Products & Services 🌱

The African Forest Forum (AFF), with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), invites community-based and national NGOs in Africa to submit proposals for pilot projects that strengthen climate-resilient value chains of forest biodiversity products and services.

🔹 Funding: Up to USD 20,000 per project
🔹 Duration: 2 years (Sept 2025 – Sept 2027)
🔹 Deadline: 29 August 2025
🔹 Start Date: 15 September 2025

✅ Focus Areas:

  • Value addition to timber & non-timber forest products (NTFPs: food, medicine, eco-tourism, etc.)

  • Climate-resilient community enterprises

  • Sustainable landscape management (e.g., agroforestry, multifunctional landscapes)

  • Social inclusion, gender & youth involvement, and economic viability

🌿 Priority Biodiversity Hotspots:

  • Madagascar & Indian Ocean Islands

  • Guinean Forests of West Africa

  • Eastern Afromontane

  • Coastal Forests of Eastern Africa

  • Maputaland-Pondoland-Albany

  • Horn of Africa

👥 Eligibility:

  • Legally registered community-based or national NGO in Africa

  • Proven track record in forestry, biodiversity, or climate resilience

  • At least 2 years of audited financial statements

  • Strong community and institutional partnerships
