The D‑Prize Global Competition 2026 is now live, offering up to USD $20,000 in seed funding to launch new organizations that distribute proven poverty solutions. The competition seeks entrepreneurs ready to deliver evidence‑based interventions to the last mile, scale their impact, and reach thousands or even millions of people.

Focus Areas

Applicants can choose from a range of interventions, including:

  • Agriculture: Post‑harvest support, storage technologies, loans, or propose your own evidence‑based intervention.
  • Health: Distribution of DMPA‑SC, provider training, inventory management, medical waste management.
  • Education: Phone‑based tutoring, foundational literacy and numeracy, childcare services.
  • Energy: Renewable energy and access solutions.
  • Livelihoods & Public Services: Road safety, government transparency, poverty graduation programs.
  • Water: Safe water and sanitation solutions.

Eligibility

  • Open to new organizations only. Most awardees are first‑time entrepreneurs.
  • Applicants from low‑ and middle‑income countries are strongly encouraged.
  • Existing organizations considered only if their core focus is distributing an evidence‑based poverty intervention.
  • Organizations with more than 18 months of full‑time operations or more than USD $30,000 raised are typically not supported.

Application Timeline

  • Launch: 7 April 2026
  • Early Submission Deadline: 17 May 2026 (23:59 PT)
  • Regular Submission Deadline: 7 June 2026 (23:59 PT)
  • Extension Deadline: 28 June 2026 (23:59 PT)

Evaluation Process

  • Round 1: Submit a two‑page concept note and resume(s).
  • Round 2: Top 5% invited to answer short written questions.
  • Final Round: Top entrepreneurs interviewed via phone/email.
  • Award & Launch: Top 1% receive up to USD $20,000 to pilot their idea and build scalable organizations.
