Overview

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, in partnership with the World Food Forum, has launched the Global Youth Contest 2026. This contest invites young learners worldwide to share how FAO’s free eLearning Academy courses have shaped their studies, careers, and community impact.

Deadline: 31 July 2026 (23:59 CEST) Prize: Fully funded trip to Rome, Italy to attend the World Food Forum (12–15 October 2026)

Agric Relevance

This contest is agric‑related because it focuses on how FAO’s eLearning Academy supports:

  • Sustainable agrifood systems – Courses on climate‑smart agriculture, food security, and rural development.
  • Youth empowerment – Equipping young people with tools to drive agricultural innovation.
  • Community impact – Applying knowledge to improve farming practices, food processing, and local livelihoods.
  • Global visibility – Winners share their stories at the World Food Forum, amplifying youth voices in agriculture.

Eligibility

  • Age: 18–35 years
  • Open to all countries and regions
  • Must be a registered learner of the FAO eLearning Academy
  • Must have completed FAO courses and earned certified digital badges
  • Passport valid until at least April 2027

Prize

  • 3 Winners will receive:
    • Fully funded trip to Rome to attend the World Food Forum 2026
    • Global visibility through video interviews featured on FAO platforms
    • Recognition as youth leaders advancing sustainable agrifood systems

Evaluation Criteria

  • Number of certified digital badges obtained
  • Quality and clarity of the impact story
  • Evidence of how learning was applied in practice
  • Verified completion of FAO eLearning Academy courses
  • Positive consideration for applicants from underrepresented or vulnerable groups

  • Prepare a short impact story (max 4,000 characters) showing how learning shaped your journey
