The Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) has launched its 9th Call for Proposals, offering US$163 million in grant financing to support country‑led investments that strengthen food security, build resilience, and improve livelihoods for smallholder farmers and rural communities in the world’s poorest countries.

Aligned with the GAFSP Strategic Plan (2025–2030), this call emphasizes innovative and integrated solutions that:
– Improve agricultural productivity
– Strengthen market access
– Enhance climate resilience
– Empower women and girls
– Support inclusive food systems
The program encourages collaboration across public and private actors, alignment with national priorities, and increased support for fragile and conflict‑affected countries.

Eligibility
– Proposals must be submitted by national governments of eligible countries in partnership with one of GAFSP’s approved Supervising Entities (AfDB, ADB, IFAD, IDB, World Bank; FAO/WFP for technical assistance).
– NGOs, civil society organizations, farmer groups, private firms, and individuals cannot apply directly. However, governments are required to demonstrate meaningful engagement with these stakeholders in preparing proposals.
– Co‑financing is mandatory, with both cash and in‑kind contributions accepted.
