The Jiangsu Jasmine Scholarship, sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and overseen by the Ministry of Education, aims to attract outstanding international students to pursue full-time study in Jiangsu province. Both full and partial awards are available across undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and exchange programmes.

Scholarship Objectives

Eligible Programmes

  • Bachelor’s degree (full-degree)
  • Master’s degree
  • Doctoral degree (PhD)
  • Non-degree and exchange programmes under existing MOUs or agreements

Benefits

Full Scholarship

  • Complete exemption of tuition, registration, laboratory, internship, and basic textbook fees
  • Free on-campus dormitory accommodation or a yearly housing allowance of CNY 10,000
  • Monthly living stipend of CNY 1,500 (full month if registered by the 15th; half month if after)
  • Comprehensive medical insurance under the International Students’ Protection Scheme

Partial Scholarship

  • College (undergraduate) students: CNY 20,000 per academic year
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students: CNY 30,000 per academic year
  • Non-degree/exchange students: CNY 2,000 per month (3–12 months, per agreement)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Non-Chinese citizenship and good physical and mental health
  • Academic and age requirements:
    • Undergraduate applicants: Senior high school diploma; under 30 years of age
    • Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree; under 35 years of age
    • Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree; under 40 years of age
  • Compliance with Chinese laws and host university admission standards
  • Not concurrently holding another Chinese government scholarship

Application Process

  1. Register on the “Study in Jiangsu” portal and complete the online application form.
  2. Upload scanned copies of:
    • Passport photo page
    • Highest diploma/degree certificate and academic transcripts (notarized if not in Chinese or English)
    • Certificate of current enrollment (for continuing undergraduates)
    • Any required recommendation letters or proof of exchange agreement
  3. Print and sign the submitted application form.
  4. Mail the printed form and all notarized documents to the Jiangsu Jasmine Scholarship Management Office by May 31, 2025.

Selection and Notification

Candidates are evaluated on academic merit, research or study plan quality, and alignment with scholarship objectives. Shortlisted applicants will be formally nominated and guided through enrolment with their chosen institution.
