Overview
FIU awards merit-based scholarships to admitted First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students. Consideration for these scholarships is automatic when students submit and complete the freshman admissions application by the relevant deadlines. Scholarship funding is limited and reviewed until fully allocated.

Application Deadlines for Early Fall/Fall 2026

  • Florida Residents: November 3, 2025

  • Non-Florida Residents: December 17, 2025

Testing Deadlines for Scholarship Consideration

  • ACT: October 18, 2025

  • CLT: September 22, 2025

  • SAT: October 4, 2025

Eligibility

  • U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, or eligible international student (F-1 visa or other eligible visa)

  • Academic records and residency status considered for merit awards (no separate application required)

  • Presidential Merit Scholarship

  • Gold and Blue Scholarship

  • FIU National Merit Finalist

  • Raise.Me Micro-Scholarships

Transfer Students

  • Gold and Blue Scholarship

  • Transfer Raise.Me Micro-Scholarships

Transfer Student Requirements

  • Entering in Early Fall/Fall 2026

  • Completion of AA or AS degree from a Florida Community College before transfer

  • Minimum 45 credit hours on Raise.Me

  • U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident

  • Florida resident

  • 3.5 GPA

  • Apply to FIU and complete Raise.Me profile by May 5, 2026

  • Follow FIU on Raise.Me

  • High school Raise.Me earnings not eligible for transfer students

Additional Notes

  • FIU recalculates GPA based on completed courses, including AP, IB, Dual Enrollment, AICE, and Honors coursework.

  • Students should review renewal and appeal policies to maintain their merit scholarship aid.
