Accelerating Global Forest Restoration

The Seed to Forest Accelerator partners with local teams to develop high-quality reforestation projects that combine resilient ecosystems with thriving communities while generating trusted climate credits.

Objectives

  • Funding: Cover planting costs, coordinate carbon sales, and develop sustainable business models to reduce dependency on grants.
  • Training: Access ongoing guidance from experts in forestry, science, carbon finance, legal, community impact, and marketing.
  • Seeds: Implement seed banking solutions to promote high native species diversity.
  • Tracking: Monitor progress from seed to field using Terraware software for transparency.
  • Expert Support: Leverage a global team of foresters, scientists, technologists, carbon strategists, and communicators.
  • Project Flexibility: Focus on native, biodiverse restoration with options for agroforestry and sustainable timber harvesting.

How It Works

  1. Review Accelerator Criteria: Ensure your project aligns with the program’s goals.
  2. Complete Application: Takes approximately 90 minutes.
  3. Submit Application: Applications are reviewed regularly.
  4. Interviews & Screening: Top candidates meet with project leads for technical assessment.
  5. Admission & Launch: Accepted projects receive personalized feedback and launch support.

Who It’s For

The accelerator targets forest restoration teams worldwide, particularly those:

  • Committed to biodiversity and native ecosystem restoration
  • With long-term access to at least 3,000 hectares in Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, or the Philippines (15,000+ hectares in other countries)
  • Operating in tropical or subtropical regions
  • Experienced in native ecosystem reforestation
  • Interested in carbon market financing
  • Focused on long-term restoration (minimum 40 years) with environmental and community benefits
