Advancing sustainable food systems and agricultural resilience

The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center has opened applications for the 2027 Convening Program, a unique opportunity for organizations and leaders to collaborate on breakthrough solutions to global challenges. For more than 60 years, the Bellagio Center has hosted convenings that have catalyzed landmark initiatives in energy, food, health, and finance systems.

Agric Relevance

Among the program’s priority themes, Food Systems and Nutrition is particularly relevant for agricultural innovators, NGOs, and farmer‑focused organizations. Convenings under this theme aim to:

  • Promote healthy, nutritious food grown sustainably.
  • Address challenges facing farmers, including extreme weather, water scarcity, and food insecurity.
  • Reimagine how food is grown, produced, purchased, distributed, and consumed to benefit both producers and consumers.
  • Build resilient agricultural systems that support rural livelihoods while reducing environmental impact.

This is a strategic opportunity for Ghanaian agricultural NGOs, youth innovators, and women founders to engage in shaping global food system reforms while amplifying local solutions.

Program Highlights

  • Scale: Approximately 60 one‑week convenings each year, hosting around 1,000 participants.
  • Impact: Convenings are designed to accelerate solutions beyond the event itself, linking outputs to measurable progress.
  • Collaboration: Brings together diverse stakeholders across sectors, political perspectives, and geographies.
  • Legacy: Past convenings have launched initiatives such as CGIAR and the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), demonstrating the program’s transformative potential.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • A specific solution with potential for meaningful breakthroughs.
  • A clear charitable purpose that improves lives of underserved populations.
  • A credible path to impact beyond the convening.
