Overview

The Young Climate Prize, hosted by The World Around, is now open for applications for Cycle 03. This global initiative recognizes and supports young leaders under 25 who are driving impactful climate action projects with immediate, local, and scalable impact.

Timeline

  • April 22, 2026: Applications open (Earth Day).
  • June 30, 2026: Application deadline (11:59 PM EDT).
  • September 2026: Cohort 03 announced during NY Climate Week (25 finalists selected).
  • September–December 2026: Design Academy – three‑month program of workshops, lectures, and mentorship.
  • January 2027: Jury convenes to review progress and impact.
  • April 2027: Winners present at The World Around Summit in New York City during Earth Week.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 13–25.
  • Be the founder or co‑founder of a climate action project.
  • Submit a two‑minute video introducing their project, plus written or visual evidence of its impact.
  • Applications accepted in English or Spanish.
  • Participation is free of charge.

Projects may focus on:

  • Climate action
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Renewable energy
  • Community activism
  • Ecology and biodiversity
  • Design and storytelling
